WHAT DID YOU SAY?
During this time of year, most of us take time to reflect upon where we are in life. We compare ourselves to our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc…
QUITTERS
“Mo-ooom, I don’t want to go to Martial Arts today!” Many parents have heard this from their child before. Maybe it is even a daily struggle to get them to go to and participate in class.
LET THEM STRUGGLE
I have had the privilege of teaching martial arts for nearly twenty years. In those two decades, many of the children I have taught and continue to teach have special needs.
IT’S NOT MY BLACK BELT
Black Belt…Earning this title is the primary focus and objective for many martial artists worldwide. They want the skill, the recognition; to see their name up in lights, if you will.
OUR CREED
A few years ago I was tasked with a challenge. Our school was using a creed that someone else wrote. The creed was great.
THINK BEFORE YOU ASK
You have no doubt heard the phrase: “There is no such thing as a stupid question.” But if you were to be honest with yourself, you will recognize that stupid questions are not a myth.
THE WHY!?!?!
Pursuing any worthwhile goal requires perseverance. You will face obstacles and challenges, that if not you’re not properly prepared, will force you to give up on your goal.
MIND OF MATTER
Mind of Matter
Most of you have probably heard the term “Mind over Matter”, but does it really mean anything to you personally? As a martial artist, it should mean everything.
THE REAL BENEFITS OF TRAINING AT PRIDE MMA
One of the first questions often asked by those inquiring into the Martial Arts is “How long does it take to get a black belt?” Not earn one, but get one.
ONE SLURPEE AT A TIME
I have been doing martial arts for 14 years, and I would never have developed the skills I need for the rest of my life without it.
WHAT KIND OF FRIEND ARE YOU?
Our word of the month for November is Compassion: Investing whatever is necessary in order to heal the hurts of others. Many people confuse compassion for feeling bad when someone is hurt.
CAN MY CHILD BE LEFT ALONE?
How do you know if your child is ready to stay home alone or ride his bike to school? By asking him. Ideally, your child should know the following twelve points before he is ever alone in public.
ARE YOU BATTLE READY?
Steel is one of the great materials of our age due to its strength and longevity. It is the foundational material in many of the buildings and bridges we use every day.
MISSION COMMAND
Lord Admiral Nelson (1758-1805) and his contributions to naval strategy, combat tactics, and leadership have stood the test of time.
COURAGE IS NOT FLAT!
This month we have been talking to the kids at Pride about Courage. Courage means that we never let our fears keep us from success.
Sometimes fear of rejection or ridicule can keep us from speaking out about our beliefs.

Pride Mixed Martial Arts Kid’s Program
We have been with Pride for a year now. Pride has taught him how to be ready for school, discipline, manners, and has helped him grow out of his shyness. He wants to work so hard to get to his black belt. I couldn’t express how much I love what Pride has done for him. The coaches have always been amazing and have so much patience with the kids.

I LOVE this place! All of the coaches are so knowledgeable, experienced and super friendly. They are so patient while I learn and have such positive attitudes all the time. I absolutely recommend for everyone, kids and adults to train here.

They are great with the little kids and make sure they understand the move completely before they have them demonstrate it. They are always on their level as not to seem towering and that helps my daughter to have that. All the coaches are great and this is definitely a family gym.
