I once heard a speaker say, “The price for failure is greater than the price of success.”. That phrase has stuck with me for many years. It got me thinking about why do so many people chose to pay the price of failure.
What stops one person from taking action and becoming successful and what helps the other person dominate their field? The answer is mindset. Mindset is are the ideas and attitudes with which a person approaches a situation.
Over the years of teaching, training, and coaching I found there are two things that keep people from becoming successful. Fear and Self Doubt.
Self Doubt whispers in your ear that you’re not worth it. It gladly points out that you don’t deserve success. It constantly reminds you that you’re not strong enough, that you don’t have enough education, and you don’t have any credibility.
Self Doubt eagerly reminds you of your shortcomings
Fear is the liar, who shows you false outcomes. Fear paralyzes you with his wicked narrative that always ends in hurt. Fear relishes in causing you worry and distress through his threats of danger and pain.
Fear is the mind killer
To win you must conquer these two Dream Killers. You have to change your mindset. Winners and losers both feel fear and self-doubt. Winners acknowledge them and move forward. They recognize their shortcomings, but take action anyway. Losers make excuses.
Without Fear you cannot be Brave
When we acknowledge you we are, and more importantly WHOSE you are, trusting in your gifts, talents, and abilities becomes easier. Facing your fears becomes drives you instead of incapacitating you.
The noted speaker and author Les Brown wrote:
“Imagine if you will being on your death bed – And standing around your bed – the ghosts of the ideas, the dreams, the abilities, the talents given to you by God.
And there they are standing around your bed looking at you with large angry eyes saying we came to you, and only you could have given us life! Now we must die with you forever.
The question is – if you die today what ideas, what dreams, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, would die with you? “
Whether you fail or succeed, you will pay a price
See you on the mat,
